“In my dream, in the angel shrugged  and said, if we fail this time, it will be a failure of imagination. And then she placed the world gently in the palm of my hand.” Brian Andreas

We came across this  magical ol’ ruin while exploring the hills that overlook the historical village of Samobor, Croatia [ just Nth West of Zagreb] – the sun shone upon us – like an angel whispering, reassuring, promising us that if we stay true all our wishes would be granted – one day.

We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of personkind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely. Dr. Leo Buscaglia, 1924-1998

A young Bengali girl  smiles proudly at me during a visit to her school. These schools were built and a teacher training program was set up in the Char river area of Bangladesh by by a local NGO Friendship – some of the most remote inaccessible regions of the country – 95% of all women and children in this area are illiterate.

‘Do not think of today’s failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult task, but you will succeed if you persevere; and you will find joy in overcoming obstacles. Remember, no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost.’  Helen Keller, 1880-1968

Char area of Northern Bangladesh  – this was taken during a 10 day period I spent working on a floating hospital Friendship NGO Lifebuoy – an exhausted nurse rubs his head – he is assisting 2 volunteer eye doctors from Dhaka – they are there to perform cataract surgeries – completing hundreds of patients over just a few days – averaging 6 patients per hour

It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things. Leonardo Da Vinci, 1452-1519

‘Compassion is not religious business, it is human business, it is not luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, it is essential for human survival.’ Tenzin Gyatso – 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet
Taltoili – A remote area  of Bangladesh that is consistently ravanged by floods – an NGO called  Friendship has come in and set up a Pond filter system which gives villagers access to fresh clean water – even during crisis time
Please remember the people of Pakistan desperately need our support & assistance in this time of complete devastation – though it seems hopeless – our compassion is surely invaluable xS

“Zest is the secret of all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without it.”
-Christian Dior

In this very poor region of Bangladesh – you can see the amount of aid that comes in from various western countries –  especially in the clothing – this is a hilarious example of just that  – remember most of these people are illiterate and very few read especially English – xS

This picture was taken in Dhaka, Bangldesh, during my trip last year, working for the NGO Friendship. These are called rickshaws, which is basically a tricycle designed to carry passengers in addition to the driver. They are now only seen in some areas of the old Dhaka city, as they have been banned in the capital.
